Latest Updates from Our Project:

New Playmat Sample
over 5 years ago – Sat, Oct 27, 2018 at 12:59:36 PM

Production

We have begun to see some samples coming back and are in the process of proofing each component with LongPack. I'm very pleased with how much communication we've had over the past couple of weeks. Take a look at this sample photo of the playmat, this isn't the final product but it's coming along so well we had to share!

Timeline

We are working very hard to have Re-Chord to you all by the Holidays but the reality of the situation is that all depends on proofing and shipping timelines which are still not entirely solid yet. Andrew and I are dedicated to getting the best quality game to you as fast as possible.

If production is finished in time for PAX Unplugged we will attempt to Air Freight copies in for the show. If we can meet that goal, backer pickup will be available by all means at PAX Unplugged. Thanks again for your continued support and we are so excited to see Re-Chord getting closer to taking the stage!

Re-Chord Rulebook!
over 5 years ago – Mon, Oct 08, 2018 at 08:23:41 PM

Rulebooks!

Hello Everyone, We took a poll in the Re-Chord facebook group to gauge interest in posting the rulebook with or without the song card list. The large majority of responses were "give us the whole rulebook with the songs listed". That being said a few people do not want to have their cards spoiled or would prefer the surprise. For this reason, we've decided to do both!

The unspoiled version can be found HERE and is also the version hosted on our website.

We have to make the full song list available to those playing on Tabletop Simulator and Tabletopia, as they are needed to set up the game. The full rulebook is currently available on BoardGameGeek.com for those of you who want to see the entire thing including all of the song cards!

Yawning Iguanas?

Sometimes people have trouble pronouncing the "Yanaguana" part of our name. We often teach it by having them say the words "Yawn & Iguana" without a pause. It works, it's fun and silly like we are. So naturally, a limited edition Yawning Iguana enamel pin from the amazing artist Nick Nazarro (Dragoon, Human Era, and more) was bound to become a thing.

This is #1 in a series of limited edition artists pins we are going to be doing featuring our reptilian friend. These are super limited (Less than 200 total 1st edition pins) but we are going to give backers the first crack at them. We'll announce their addition to our store in a backer-only update very soon (Next week-ish). You'll have about two hours and then we will open the sale up to the general public if there are any left. We also have a few fun contests planned that should be another way to get ahold of one, those will be shared here as well.

Manufacturing

China was on holiday last week so we are anxiously awaiting an update about production proofs. We will keep you all updated as soon as we know what our current timeline looks like. We are constantly looking for ways to speed the process up without sacrificing quality and we greatly appreciate all of your patience and support. Thanks again for everything and we look forward to sharing some proofs and samples with you soon. Have a wonderful week!

GrandCon wrap up and production updates
over 5 years ago – Tue, Sep 18, 2018 at 02:10:10 AM

 Production update

I've been in contact with our manufacturer over the course of the last week getting everything finalized for proofing. We had to go over all of the details and updated a few files that we found were not doing what we intended. Everything is back in forward motion and we hope to hear about the proof shipping date soon. I'll keep you updated, we are as anxious as you all and will do everything we can to hustle this project along.

A few of you reached out to ask about shipping address updates and rest assured you can still change your address in Backerkit until we lock it down. I expect us to close the backerkit very quickly after proofs arrive so it's worth checking to ensure you have the correct address input.

"Yawn Iguana"

We just got in our first series of artists pins made by the super talented Nick Nazzaro (Dragoon & Human Era). I'm really happy with how these turned out! Be on the lookout for an upcoming contest at the Yanaguana Games facebook page for ways to win yours. These are extremely limited (only a few hundred) so we will try to give our awesome backers a heads up before we put them on the store page.

GrandCon wrap up

I had the pleasure of attending GrandCon and playing a bunch of prototypes as well as a fair number of published games. I got to meet some new folks from the board game industry after working with Jonathan Gilmour and Ian Moss at the Infectious Play offices last week. GrandCon is an amazing show and if you are anywhere near Michigan I highly suggest checking it out. They say a photo is worth a million words, so I'll leave you with a photo of a bunch of really talented people who were kind enough to invite me to hang out.

Have a wonderful week and we will check back in with everyone towards the end of the month if we don't have a manufacturing update sooner. Thanks for your support and we can't wait to get Re-Chord into your hands.

Final Files including ALL backer submitted content goes to Print!
over 5 years ago – Mon, Aug 27, 2018 at 10:45:43 PM

Hello Everyone!

First off I want to express our greatest apologies for the delays in updates and manufacturing to this point. We've had a number of small things come up during the publishing process that needed our attention. First, we had some delays in getting the appropriate content submitted from everyone as I mentioned in a previous update. All of that has been sorted and as of today, ALL of the final files are being submitted to the manufacturer.

We are working with our manufacturing team to do a quick turnaround on proofs so that we can begin printing as quickly as possible. Another delay we had to hurdle is the guitar pick production and we've made progress on that while waiting for files, I'm happy to say that the manufacturer understands the function of the picks in the game as it really helped them to create the right product for us.

The last and final mountain we had to conquer was working with our legal folks to ensure all of our ideas were protectable based on U.S. Copyright laws due to the nature of the parody cards. If you are interested in the incredibly robust vocabulary enriching writing in the U.S. Copyright Act of 1976, here is your link, enjoy? I'll be fine if I never have to discuss justifications for parody songs with an attorney again, it's not nearly as fun as it might sound.

All of this leads to us being able to start printing proofs and getting those sorted. We are going to work to have all of our proofs shipped express air mail and quickly identify any mistakes or needed improvements. Our goal is to begin printing final products before the end of September. This as you know, means we will unfortunately not be able to fulfill your games in September as planned. I want to be the first to take full responsibility for the delays. I'm in charge of communicating with backers and having the legal research done prior to printing and I apologize greatly for underestimating how long those tasks would take.

I'll be providing bi-weekly updates as the campaign progresses. We will also do a live video with each proof so backers can see the progress. The next update will be right before I leave for GrandCon in Michigan. If you'll be at the show, please make sure to send me a message and let's find a time to play games! We do not have a booth as I'll be there working with some other game designers and taking a few meetings but I can always find time to play a game with an awesome backer.

If you'd like to know more about what we are up to on a daily basis; for the last few months I've been hosting a live coffee chat every Monday at 2:30 pm EST on facebook called "Monday Mug Mentions." We talk about general board game news and what is going on in the industry. Join live and add to the conversation or check out the previous episodes on our YouTube channel

We look forward to getting the produced versions of Re-Chord into our hands as much as you do. Thank you all again for your patience and continued support. Have a wonderful week!

Re-Chord Progression and updates!
almost 6 years ago – Wed, Jul 04, 2018 at 01:44:15 AM

Hello everyone!

I hope your summer is going well and you are all staying cool enough. We've been hard at work getting proofs to backers for their song cards after making some necessary adjustments over the last month. We are happy to announce that ALL BACKER SUBMITTED CONTENT IS FINALIZED!

We now have very little to do for full print proofs to begin. I'll be sending a final proof tomorrow of the names for credit on each song as an update to that tier only. You'll have about a week to notify us of any issues as that file will already be with our printer for the proofing process. (The 6 of you who are awaiting contracts for your band's cards will see them tomorrow).

Updated Cards

We made a slight update to the layout of the Song Cards. The award-winning graphic designer Stevo Torres punched the card up while we worked out some of the issues with certain cards and we are really pleased with how well these turned out. I've posted an example of the new Song Card frame below.

Many Minis

The Guitar Miniatures are complete! These were delivered by Kevin from Forge Prints last week and are ready to ship. (You still have a short window of time to add a guitar mini onto your order but once we lock the backerkit down we won't be able to add them. I'm looking into a couple of options in terms of fulfilling these, mostly to ensure that they arrive without broken necks. Andrew and I have come up with a pretty clever solution that we will share as soon as the details are confirmed.

Straggler Round-Up

There are still roughly about 30 backers who have not completed their backerkit surveys. All in all this is a very low number but if you aren't certain, it's worth sending me a message or checking your Backerkit page to ensure it's got the proper information before we lock everything down. (We will give you all a two-week notice prior to locking the Backerkit).

ConnectiCon and More!

We will be at ConnectiCon in Hartford, CT for the Connecticut Festival of Indie Games to show off our upcoming games. If you are local and attend the show please come and say hello or join us to play some games! We will have another small update next week once everything is accepted by the manufacturing team. After that, we will keep you updated as the proofing process goes forward. Thanks again for your support, we are so excited to be making this game for you.
